Britta’s Café is located in the University Village in Irvine, across the street from UCI and adjacent to the movie theater. Yappy Hour is on the patio between 5PM and 7PM the first Friday of every month. Bring your dog and an appetite: For you, wines are $5/glass and appetizers are endless. For your dog, fresh water is available and treats are on the house!
Our History with Britta’s Cafe:
Sometime in 2008, we fell in love with this place. We kept coming back because of the charming interior, warm hospitality, eclectic wine list and seasonal food. Everything about this place reminded us of our time in the South of France. If it was available, we dined on the couch (Table # 205). In May of 2009, we adopted a Weimaraner puppy and named her Britta, after this favorite date night locale. Soon after, we learned that Britta (the Owner) was a dog lover and had two Wirehaired Pointing Griffons of her own: Bill and Claire.
Our visit on February 2, 2012:
Dinner. I came here with a girlfriend to grab a quick dinner. We split a butternut squash pizzetta from the wood-fired oven and a steak entrée; both were stellar. Note: Always order the pizzetta; they change seasonally but are always delicious.

Britta and Friday roaming around; we had the patio to ourselves all night.
Our visit on July 10, 2011:
Lunch. We had taken Britta (the Weimaraner) to the Huntington Dog Beach in the morning and stopped in for a quick lunch. Britta’s (the Owner) daughter, Raquel, was home for the summer and graciously served us. Barry snapped this one of me and “my lap dog.”
Britta the Weimaraner, lap dog extraordinaire.
Idea – meet us here for Yappy Hour?! Or if you go on your own, tell Britta the Chef that “Britta’s mom and dad” sent you.
